I know you've been working hard at getting those Suedes to look like something Dave..

Given time and with your eye for color and fashion they will be looking hot_ hot_ hot soon..

I only spent about 1 hour with these Clydes and it shows.. Maybe next time I'll try the dye thingy too..

Oh well, so much for a cheap pair of Clydes.. :)

LOL I don't know - I'm having a hard time getting past that "lavender" stage and to a better color. But I may just move on and color the formstripe and see how that looks...

I'm not sure you can dye specfic shoe sections only, but I'm not an expert (yet, LOL). No doubt the dye would seep under any tape and cause a real mess. However, if you are dying natural colored Clydes that have a colored formstripe, that's different (I believe much of Chillie's dye jobs are like that, and the results are very cool).

Hey Nick, I used a standard permanent black marker on the burgundy Clydes, sorta like the one you would use addressing a package for mailout..

No tape etc, just be carefull when near form stripes and soles.. Use a brand new chisel marker for crisp definition.

The Clydes are actually growing on me now, I'll prolly rock them as chitkickers, I don't mind the mess I made of them at all..  LOL!

So far I've only dyed the whole shoe (it was natural/beige Suede if you recall, with the same color formstripe). So the shoe is all one color now, purplish. I am contemplating the dye pen on the stripe but am a little undecided yet..

Well, Gren would have to explain how he got the toe a different color on his...

As for me, I dyed the whole thing, just dunk it on the dye bath and leave there for an hour. So obviously you can't avoid the formstripe getting colored. The insole gets colored and the sole stitiching too, but luckily for me, the rubber outsole stayed white.

he didnt dye the toebox, he just used a pair of these tri clydes from a couple of year back., however the only way to dye different panels is to buy some ready made suede dye such as the one dylon do and apply it with a brush as if your painting the panel if ya know what i mean.

I had a sneaking suspicion Gren may have used Tris, which is kinda too bad, since they are the best looking Tris IMO.

And no, I really don't think taping suede works...

Jiggy with what, Emerald? ;) You mean color the formstripe?? I'm a little hesitant - worried I don't have the right brand of dye marker. Wanna send me a couple of purple ones?
But more so, I am really starting to like the all-purple look of these - it's just plain & simple kick. I will throw the purple thins from my States in there...
