Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get the shoe dark purple, it's still a tad on teh light (almost lavender :) ) side. But I fear that any more dying will start to affect the suede a little. I'm just waiting for Emerald to send those purple markers. But you guys go me thinking that burgundy may be interesting...

Here's a shot of the shoes after the 2nd dye job in purple. I think the flash makes them look lighter than they really are. I tried coloring the heel window with a dye marker (not Emerald's brand). With no flash, you get a better idea of the truer dye job results.

Yo man, great job, but how did you get all that dye off the insoles when you were done? I mean, the whole damn shoe musta been purple!

Thx.
Well, the whole shoe did get kinda purple, yes. However, after soaking the shoe for 1-2 hours, I rinsed it repeatedly under cold water and that helped to get some of the dye out of the insole. Not all, but running water over teh insole for a bit helped. You can see in the photo that the insole is a very lightly colored.

Sweet, that's easy enough.

No, I haven't attempted to color the formstripe (yet); part of me is pretty happy with how the color of the shoe ended up, and I kinda like the stripe being the same color. I just need to find a great set of laces for them - I'm thinking the dark purples from the purple Size? States...
